Mandela House is the house on Vilakazi Street, Orlando West, Soweto, where Nelson Mandela lived from 1946 to 1962. It’s a popular visitor attraction and a leading centre for the preservation of the Mandela Family legacy.
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
We were approached by one of our existing clients, Nihka Technology Group, to assist with the creative development for the Mandela House online platform, which is managed by The Apartheid Museum on behalf of The Soweto Heritage Trust. The site needed to be easy to navigate, outlining all the necessary background content and visitor info, as well as serve as a showcase for a virtual tour created and developed by Anthea Pokroy and 3D Tours.
To say that we were honoured to be a creative partner on this project is an understatement. As far as iconic places go, Mandela House is one that will forever mark the spot where the Father of our Nation once lived. Aside from the professional and creative execution involved in developing the overall navigation and functionality, as well as aligning it to the Museum’s CI guide, www.mandelahouse.com represents a bright feather in our cap – one that we are very proud of.
